Regardless of the distance, David Petersen will come to your area to stage an intervention for your loved one. David has full clinical licensure in Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas, and he often works in these states. In addition, David can deliver fully professional, clinical intervention services anywhere in North America, including Canada and Mexico.
“These are the finest and best of my practice years, the senior phase of my career. Restoring addicts – be they teens or young-to-middle-aged adults – to their families is the core passion that fuels my vocation.” ~ David Petersen
Although intervention services may be available from a recovery professional in your community, David Petersen offers a bona-fide agreement that ensures the highest level of professional responsibility and accountability to the client. He is among few interventionists who offer such a clear agreement. In addition, the informed consent to treatment that David requires during the course of treatment establishes medical necessity for the group through an enrollee. Intrepid Interventions only restriction unique to my offering of care is a family’s acceptance of psychotherapeutic support in the process of intervention.
A family member or friend (not the addict) must give written consent for a healthcare alliance to be established. In David’s practice, the family representative who initially establishes the therapeutic relationship with David usually serves as the Responsible Party in this agreement. Moreover, David is licensed in a domain and level of behavioral practice that is recognized for independent practice.
I have formulated an affordable and effective intervention that can be scheduled on relatively short notice. See the Fees and Payment information for more information on those topics.
Organizing Your Loved One’s Intervention
Because David is based in Colorado Springs, organizing an intervention in Colorado is usually a straightforward process. David can respond in a shorter time and more affordably close to home. In addition, Intrepid Interventions has a facility in Colorado Springs where the intervention can be staged. If your family’s intervention occurs in another Colorado city, travel is obviously less of an issue close to home.
Colorado clients also save money if a half-day intervention (only available in Colorado) is appropriate for your family. Many Colorado families require a full-day intervention; David will make this determination as early in the process as possible.
In Texas, New Mexico, and Beyond
Arranging the details of an intervention in states other than Colorado can be a bit more challenging, but the process is well worth the payoff of your family and your addicted loved one receiving the help they need.
David and the Intrepid Interventions staff can make the necessary arrangements, but you will be billed for the time required by the planning process in addition to the fees for venue, travel, lodging, and so forth.
Obviously, making the arrangements yourself is one way to economize. Furthermore, the family’s participation in intervention planning has undeniable therapeutic value. For these reasons, most families choose to take responsibility for all or some of the logistical details. The following list provides general details to support your understanding of the practical requirements of an intervention. David can answer any questions during the initial consultation.
Choosing a date. In most locations, the scheduling of an intervention depends primarily upon the availability of the family and friends who will participate, including the addicted loved one. David’s response times are usually less than the rest of the attendees.
Blocking time. Only full-day (12-hour) interventions are available outside Colorado. After an initial consultation, these interventions can be arranged on relatively short notice.
City. Although David can stage an intervention in almost any town, a larger metropolitan area usually helps clients save time and money. However, consideration will be carefully made for the needs of the family, friends, and addicted loved one.
Facility/Venue. The venue for the intervention must be private and comfortable. Amenities such as restrooms, coffee, and food service are important; intervention is a psychotherapeutic workshop of duration and intensity.
